After a senior campaign for the Georgia State Panthers in 2019, Devin Mitchell, like many successful collegiate athletes, eagerly anticipated a call from his agent to kickstart his professional basketball career. However, as the right situation never materialized, frustration set in. Mitchell observed a similar trend among his peers facing the same challenge of transitioning into the professional sports realm and wanted to make a difference. Over months of contemplation, he found himself confronted with limited job opportunities related to his degree, having not undertaken internships or having any real connections made during college.
Growing more disheartened, Mitchell embarked on a journey to bridge the gap between college athletes and their transition into the workforce. He felt the unfairness of dedicating the majority of his time to collegiate basketball, only to find himself unprepared for alternative career paths if basketball didn't pan out. Mitchell then set out on a number of different careers from 2020 to 2023, it was during this pivotal time that Mitchell conceived and developed the CAMP program and founded ASPACE Enterprises.
